The old rationale is gone

Wire distribution existed largely to produce syndicated copies carrying links. Those copies are near-duplicates on low-authority sites, which contribute little — count and placement stopped being the thing that matters.

The remaining value is description

If a genuine publication writes about you, the result is an independent source describing your business in text. That is corroboration, and it is what a wire dump of identical copies is not.

A hundred syndicated copies of your own words is not corroboration. One journalist’s paragraph is.

Which means the news has to be real

Announcements nobody covers produce nothing but a page on your own site. Funding, launches, appointments, partnerships and genuine data are covered; “thought leadership” is not.

Control the facts inside it

Whatever you publish will be quoted verbatim by outlets and later by models. Make sure the description of your company matches the one canonical sentence you use everywhere, because inconsistency here propagates widely.

Host the announcement yourself

Publish it on your own site as the canonical version and link out to coverage. Otherwise a wire site becomes the source of record for your own news — the same trap as syndicating your best content elsewhere.

Judge it by what gets written

The measure is whether independent sources now describe you accurately, not how many pickups a dashboard claims. Check it the way you check everything else — against your fixed prompt set.
